PRIEST: Having listened to the Word of God let us now call upon our Father who made us, the Son who redeemed us, and the Holy Spirit who renews us, as we bring our petitions:
READER: For all the Christian churches in their search for unity, that their one-ness will show forth in the unity of Father, Son and Holy Spirit. (pause) Lord in your mercy
READER: For world leaders, that they may guide us with wisdom and truth and away from the destruction of war and violence. (pause) Lord in your mercy
READER: For all those who find themselves turning away from the faith, that the Spirit of God may move in their hearts and minds, encouraging them along the ways of discipleship. (pause) Lord in your mercy
READER: For all who have been affected by the plane crash in India, may the power of the Trinty console them and may the perpetual light of God shine on all those who have died. (pause) Lord in your mercy
READER: For all Father’s this Father’s Day, especially Fr George and all the father’s in the parish, that the Holy Trinity will support them, guide them and bless them during the easy times and the most challenging. (pause) Lord in your mercy
READER: For all who are sick, injured or recently bereaved that they will know the healing touch of Christ in their lives. (pause) Lord in your mercy
READER: Let us ask for the intercession of our Lady as we say HAIL MARY…
READER: Let us pray for a moment for our own intentions.
PRIEST: God our Father, have mercy on us and hear our prayers. May the love which unites the persons of the Trinity shape our lives and the lives of all people. We ask this in the name of Jesus, your Son, who celebrates life with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever.
PRIEST: As we continue to celebrate the Resurrection, we are confident that Christ intercedes for us at the right hand of the Father. With faith in his love we make our prayers in his name:
READER: For the whole Church, that all who believe in the Risen Christ may follow him faithfully. (pause) Lord in your mercy
READER: For peace in our world, that Christ’s gift of peace may settle in the hearts of all people and guide us away from injustice and violence. (pause) Lord in your mercy
READER: For all who doubt or struggle with faith, that God’s love and presence may become known to them and bring light to their life’s journey. (pause) Lord in your mercy
READER: For all those newly welcomed into the life of the Church, that they may be united in heart and soul and may be a sign of God’s transforming and merciful love. (pause) Lord in your mercy
READER: For our own parish community, that we may see the Lord in the signs he has left us, giving us new life in Baptism and nourishing us in the Eucharist. (pause) Lord in your mercy
READER: For all who are in need, that those with plenty may act with compassion so as to serve their brothers and sisters in Christ with justice. (pause) Lord in your mercy
READER: For all who are sick or suffering and for those close to death, that Jesus, the risen Saviour, may give them grace and strength. (pause) Lord in your mercy
PRIEST: God our Father, increase in our minds and hearts the Risen life we share with Christ, helping us to grow as your people. We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Feast of the Holy Family
Priest
On this feast of the Holy Family we bring our requests to God our loving father.
Reader:
For the church. May its teaching and action always reflect the example of the Holy Family Lord hear us
For parents; that in a spirit of generosity and love, they may be strengthened in their vocation, Lord hear us
For friends, family, and the strangers in our midst, may we reach out to them and remember them, not only at Christmas but throughout the year. Lord hear us
For refugees in all parts of the world who, like the Holy Family, cannot return home for fear of death or repression. May they be received with kindness in foreign lands and supported in their endeavours to build a new life. Lord hear us.
For those who have died and whose anniversaries occur at this time, May they be blessed with God’s welcome into his presence. Lord hear us.
Let us ask Mary, loving wife and mother to pray for us as we say. Hail Mary …
In silence we thank God for our blessings and ask him to hear our personal prayers.
Priest:
Father we ask you to hear and answer all our prayers which we bring to you in faith and love through our Lord Jesus your Son. Amen
